North Korea fires mid-range ballistic missiles toward Japan Sea

TOKYO - North Korea fired two medium-range ballistic missiles toward the Japan Sea early on Wednesday, South Korea's Yonhap news agency said, citing senior South Korean military officials.
The missiles, which appeared to be Rodong class, flew some 650 km (400 miles), the agency said.
North Korea has fired several short-range missiles in recent days. Wednesday's launches came on the day Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was due to meet South Korean President Park, along with US President Barack Obama, who brokered the meeting.
