North Korea: Son of Kim Jung Il appointed head of nation's spy agency

A South Korean newspaper reported Wednesday that Kim Jung Un, the youngest son of North Korean leader Kim Jung Il, had been appointed as head of the country's spy agency. The paper stated that the appointment was made to prepare the 26-year-old to inherit the leadership of the country from his father. According to the report, Kim Jung Il announced the appointment to State Security Department officials while handing out luxury cars as gifts in order to "sweeten the news." South Korea's main spy agency, the National Intelligence Service, said it could not confirm the report.
