Obama at UNGA: Int'l community's response to Syrian chemical arms 'has not met the scale of the challenge'

The international community's response to the use of chemical weapons in Syria "has not met the scale of the challenge," US President Barack Obama said Tuesday in an address to the UN General Assembly.
"The US believe as a starting point the international community must support the ban of chemical weapons," he said.
Obama added that there must be a strong Security Council resolution to verify that the Assad regime used chemical weapons on civilian populations in Syria.
