Obama sets goal to cut $4 trillion from deficit

WASHINGTON - US President Barack Obamawill set a goal of reducing the US deficit by $4 trillion inthe next 12 years or less in a speech on Wednesday, acongressional source said.

His plan would curb the US deficit to 2.5 percent of GDPin 2015, and by 2 percent toward the end of the decade, thesource said.
