An Afghan interpreter killed two USservice members before he was killed himself at a combat outpost in eastern ,a NATO official said Saturday.
The new details emerged a day afterthe deaths were announced in a brief statement.
The official, who spoke oncondition of anonymity was he was not authorized to release the information, saidthe attack occurred in Wardak province.
First reports indicated threeAmericans were killed but the official said one of the dead was an Afghan.
It was not immediately clear whythe interpreter opened fire.
