Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas condemned the death of a Palestinian Authority minister who died during clashes with Israeli troops on Wednesday as a "brutal assault" that "must be investigated."
A Palestinian Authority minister died shortly after being hit and shoved by IDF soldiers during a protest in the West Bank on Wednesday, a Reuters photographer who witnessed the incident and a medic said.
Ziad Abu Ein, a PA minister without portfolio, was rushed by ambulance from the scene, in the village of Turmusiya, but died en route to the nearby city of Ramallah.
He called the death of Ziad Abu Ein a "barbaric act" that would not be tolerated.
