PA indicts 2 Palestinians firms for violating ban on marketing Israeli products

The Palestinian Authority on Sunday filed charges against two Palestinian firms for violating a ban on marketing the products of five Israeli companies in PA-controlled territories.
The names of the two Palestinian companies were not disclosed.
The PA’s “anti-economic crimes unit” in Ramallah decided to refer the two companies to the Magistrates’ Court in Ramallah for violating the ban, which was issued by the PA government on March 22 this year.
The government decided then to ban the entry of goods made by five major Israeli food companies - Tnuva, Strauss, Jafora-Tabor, Soglowek and Tara Diary.
The government cited an Israeli decision to prevent the entry of dairy products made by Palestinian companies into east Jerusalem. The Palestinian companies affected by the Israeli move are Hamooda, Al-Juneidi Dairy and Food Products, Al-Rayyan Dairies, Salwa Foods and Senior Food Industries.
