PA warns against continued visits to Temple Mount by Jewish 'extremists and settlers'

One day after it called for calm in Jerusalem, the Palestinian Authority on Monday warned against continued visits to the Temple Mount by Jewish “extremists and settlers.”
Nabil Abu Rudaineh, spokesman for the PA presidency, said that despite Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s call for calm in the city, “incursions and transgressions against the holy sites were continuing and even escalating.”
Abu Rudaineh accused “settlers and extremists” of “storming” the al-Aksa Mosque, thus “provoking the sentiments” of Palestinians.
He noted that the PA’s stance calls for avoiding escalation and preserving the status quo with regards to the religious sites.
