Palestinian Authority ramping up security measures for Trump visit

The Palestinian Authority Police said it will be calling up all of its personnel in Bethlehem to secure US President Donald Trump’s visit on Tuesday.
“The plan includes the mobilization of all policemen in the [Bethlehem] province,” PA Police spokesman Louay Zreikat said in a statement.
Trump is expected to arrive in Bethlehem on Tuesday morning to meet with PA President Mahmoud Abbas.
Zreikat said that a number of roads will be closed including much of the main thoroughfare that connects southern Jerusalem and Bethlehem and the main road that leads to the Church of the Nativity.
PA police undertook similar measures in 2013 when former US President Barack Obama visited.
The Israel Police said it will carry out a number of measures including closing off roads in Jerusalem for Trump’s visit.
