Palestinian doctors: Autopsy shows east Jerusalem teen killed by sponge bullet shot at head

Palestinian doctors claim that the autopsy of 16-year-old Muhammad Abd Al-Majid Sunuqrut, who was killed in an August 31 riot in east Jerusalem, proves that the police version of events is false, Army Radio reported on Sunday.
Police allege the teen was shot in the leg by a sponge bullet, and subsequently died from a head injury sustained when he fell after attempting to flee police. Palestinians maintain that the sponge bullet struck the boy directly in the head, causing his death.
The teen's death has sparked unrest in east Jerusalem neighborhoods over the past two weeks.
The autopsy of Sunuqrut's body is being carried out by Israeli and Palestinian doctors. The Israeli doctors said that they are still awaiting tests to make a determination about Sunuqrut's death, however, Army Radio quoted Palestinian doctors as saying the autopsy proved he was shot in the head with the sponge bullet.
