Palestinians: Israel targeted journalists and medical personnel in Gaza

Palestinian officials accused Israel of deliberately targeting peaceful, unarmed demonstrators, journalists and medical personnel in the ongoing protests in the Gaza Strip and pledged to "continue to struggle," in a statement released Saturday.
"While Nikki Haley and other officials of the Trump Administration continue forging reality by adopting Israeli talking points or false claims... the reality that matters is that during almost a month of demonstrations in Gaza, the Israeli Army has killed over 43 Palestinian civilians," PLO Secretary General and former chief negotiator Saeb Erekat said in the statement.
International observers have tallied 41 Palestinians killed and hundreds injured since protests began March 30.
"Among the targets of the Israeli Occupation have been journalists and medical personnel," the statement continued.
"The Palestinian people reaffirms its commitment with the universal values of freedom and justice, and will continue to struggle until the fulfillment of its inalienable rights," Erekat said.
