Peres concerned at harm caused by strike of Foreign Ministry workers

President Shimon Peres has voiced concern over the harm that the strike by Foreign Ministry employees is causing to the state and its foreign relations.
At a swearing in ceremony for 26 judges and court registrars at his official residence on Tuesday, Peres who is both a former Foreign Minister and a former Finance Minister said that the citizens of the country are deeply disturbed at the attitude towards Foreign Ministry staff who are doing vital work.
Peres, who will be travelling to Austria on Sunday for a three day state visit, will be doing so without the services of the Foreign Ministry. The arrangements for his trip were made by members of his own staff.
Peres said that he did not want to blame anyone for the unhappy situation with the Foreign Ministry, but declared that it was imperative to end the strike as quickly as possible.
