President Shimon Peres said Sunday that while he was moved by the first video showing kidnapped IDF soldier Gilad Schalit, the road to the captive's release was "long."
Peres was speaking on a visit to the succa of Shas spiritual leader Rabbi Ovadia Yosef.
Also visiting the succa was Interior Minister and Shas chairman Eli Yishai, who said that everything must be done to secure the soldier's freedom and that no price was too high. He stressed that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu had made a "strategic" decision to bring Schalit home.
