Peres: Talks to release Pollard should be done behind closed doors

President Shimon Peres said Sunday he is working behind the scenes to convince US President Barack Obama to release Israeli agent Jonathan Pollard, according to Army Radio.
Speaking to haredi students in Jerusalem, Peres said public pressure will not affect the American decision.
"I don't think this issue will be decided publicly, the right way is to have quiet and practical talks - and this is what I'm doing," he said.
