Peres warns of 'life-threatening' chemical weapons stockpile in Syria

President Shimon Peres on Monday responded to the events unfolding in Syria and urged the international community to call for the removal of "life-threatening" chemical weapons stockpiles from the country.
Peres warned that it was of global interest to take such action due to the possibility that chemical arms could fall into the hands of various groups of Syrian rebels with unknown intentions.
"The UN should appoint the Arab League to establish an interim government in Syria to stop the bloodshed" Peres said.
The president asserted his respect for US President Barack Obama's deliberations on Syria saying "it was not simple".
