Peretz: Gov't should delay choice of Ashkenazi replacement

Labor MK and former defense minister Amir Peretz called on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Bark to delay the search for a replacement for IDF Chief-of-Staff Gabi Ashkenazi by three months, Israel Radio reported on Friday.
Peretz's comment was made in reaction to the public controversy caused by the Channel 2's release of the Galant document, exposing the candidates to replace Ashkenazi to greater public scrutiny.
Peretz served as defense minister when Ashkenazi was appointed to his current position.
