Petah Tikva mayor to be indicted for bribery, fraud

The central district attorney's office announced on Thursday that it planned to indict the mayor of Petah Tikva Yitzhak Ohayon and four others on charges of bribery, fraud and breach of the public trust.
The state left open the possibility of a delay or reversal of its decision if Ohayon requests a hearing and can convince the state to drop its case.
Ohayon and the others are suspected of helping various investors move their investments forward, such as in real estate, in an illegal manner in exchange for bribes.
The investigation has been ongoing since May 2011 and the decision to file an indictment was made after the recent completion of aspects of the investigation.
