Philippine President Duterte promises update if he has "serious illness"

Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte entered the hospital for tests, according to a public address made on Thursday.
Rumors of Duterte's health woes re-emerged after the 73-year-old president, known for a busy schedule and long speeches, missed two official events on Wednesday.
His spokesperson addressed the rumors Friday morning and promised the president would tell the public if he has "a serious illness".
The controversial Duterte is known primarily for a ruthless war on drugs in his country – with critics saying the government has executed thousands of people – and for a series of undiplomatic quotes.
He arrived in Israel in September, to mixed feelings from Israeli politicians but much excitement from the Philippinian community in Israel.
