Pianist Daniel Barenboim nominated for Nobel Peace Prize

The world renowned Israeli conductor, composer and musician Daniel Barenboim was nominated for Nobel Peace Prize, Israel Radio reported on Thursday.
Barenboim was nominated for his work using music to bridge gaps for the sake of peace in the Middle East, according to the report.
Barenboim, and his friend, the late Edward Said, founded the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra in 1999, composed of young musicians from Israel, the Palestinian territories, and other Arab countries.
