PM at Knesset: I approved 'Boycott bill' into law

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said at the Knesset on Wednesday that he had approved the "Boycott Law," at a Kadima-initiated 40-signature session which discussed the ruling government's failure.

"Do not be misled, I approved the law," Netanyahu said. "If I would not have approved the law, it would not have come to this point," Netanyahu said.

Amongst heckling, yelling and other verbal disruptions from various attendees at the Knesset session, Netanyahu spoke on reasons for deciding to allow the bill to become a law.

"Why did I approve [the law?]," Netanyahu asked rhetorically. "I am against boycotts, those which are directed against the state and those which are direct against groups of the state's citizens. I am against boycotts of Arabs, haredim and citizens of Israel. We have an [Knesset] members which reside in Maale Adumim, Gush Etzion and Ariel. Do you want to evacuate them? Go then to the Knesset and establish a party."
