PM says he cherishes relationship with US

At a special meeting at the Knesset on Wednesday in memory of former tourism minister Rehavam Ze'evi, who was assassinated 13 years ago, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he was not willing to make concessions that will danger the country.
"The safety of Israel is not important to those who anonymously attack us and me personally," he said, adding that he was being attacked because "I stand for our safety and our security interests."
Shifting to Israel's relations with Washington, he said he valued and respected "our deep ties with the US," vowing that strategic ties between the two allies would continue.
