PM seeks ways to bypass top court

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu began efforts to pass his controversial gas deal Monday, following Sunday’s High Court decision that disqualified part of it.
In a closed-door meeting of the Likud faction, Netanyahu called the court’s decision “miserable” and complained about the court overstepping its bounds.
“The decision hurts the economy twice, because it keeps the gas in the water and presents Israel as a bad place to do business with too much regulation and judicial interference,” Netanyahu told the faction in a photo-op at the start of the meeting. “We will use legal ways to overcome the decision and bring the gas out of the water.”
