PM: UNESCO's decision ignores a 'fundamental part of human history'

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a response Saturday to a UNESCO resolution passed this week, saying its actions are "absurd" and ignores a "fundamental part of human history."
"The decision made by the United Nations is absurd," a statement from the Prime Minster's Office reads.
"UNESCO ignores the unique historical relationship between Judaism and the Temple Mount, where two temples stood for a thousand years."
The statement continued by noting that "The UN action rewrites a fundamental part of human history."
UNESCO's Executive Board on Friday passed a resolution that failed to acknowledge Jewish ties to the holy sites of the Western Wall and the Temple Mount.
