PM: 'We have fended off Hezbollah, Iranian efforts to open new front'

The cabinet, at what is expected to be its last meeting Sunday morning, approved a bill that would allow the incoming government to raise the number of ministers from 18 to 20, and appoint a number of deputy ministers.
The controversial bill, which has come under blistering attack from Yesh Atid head Yair Lapid for wasting taxpayers money, is expected to come to the Knesset for a vote on Monday. Netanyahu must appoint the new government's ministers by Wednesday.
The prime minister, at the start of the cabinet meeting, mentioned that from the outgoing government's first cabinet meeting two years ago, the region has been in constant tumult.
“We have fended off Hezbollah in south Lebanon, the Iranian efforts to open up a new front against us on the Golan Heights, and during Operation Protective Edge we delivered Hamas a very powerful blow,” he said.
