Police: 1,200 Palestinians arrested in nation-wide crackdown

Nearly 1,200 illegal Palestinian laborers were arrested Tuesday after police conducted a  wide-ranging crackdown aimed at helping to suppress a months-long wave of terror.
Over 150 employers were also detained in the crackdown which occurred over the last two weeks, according to a statement released by police.
Last week, the Knesset passed tough new laws to stop Palestinian workers from illegally infiltrating the country as part of a comprehensive plan seeking to quell the rising violence.
According to the new legislation, Israelis caught hiring illegal Palestinian workers could face up to several years in prison if arrested.
