Police arrest family members of Palestinian suspects in synagogue attack, clashes erupt

Clashes broke out in the Jabal Mukaber neighborhood of East Jerusalem on Tuesday as Israeli security forces moved into the area to make arrests.
Two Palestinians armed with a meat cleaver and a gun killed four people in a Jerusalem synagogue before being shot dead by police, the deadliest such incident in six years in the holy city amid a surge in religious conflict.
Palestinian media named the attackers as Ghassan and Udai Abu Jamal, cousins from Jabal Mukaber, and said they were members of a small militant group.
Israeli police spokeswoman confirmed the arrest of nine Palestinians from Jabal Mukaber, some of whom are related to the attackers.
