Police cellphone application to shorten arrival times

Police announced the launch of a new smartphone application on Sunday. Called “Emergency 100,” the application makes it possible to contact emergency services by opening the application and tapping the phone. The application has also been incorporated into the Israeli parking application “Pango,” which boasts 1.5 million users.
Police hope the application will shorten the arrival time of emergency services. Moreover, the application’s geolocation feature will allow users who are unable to explain their location or feel unable to speak their location an easy way to provide their locality to police.
In a statement police sought to emphasize the importance of the application stating that it has “the power to save lives,” while stressing that the application should only be used in emergency situations.
