Police close 2 Silwan institutions suspected of Hamas ties

Police on Monday shut down two institutions in east Jerusalem suspected of receiving Hamas funding and serving as centers of secret Hamas activity.
The Israel Police Central District minority unit with the help of border patrol officers closed the a Silwan soccer club and Silwan charity organization on the orders of Police chief Insp.-Gen. Yochanan Danino for a period of one month.The owners of both foundations have the right to appeal the decision, the police emphasized.
In the past year, ten offices have been closed down which acted illegally and were funded by terror organizations, mainly Hamas, as part of police efforts to halt terrorists organizations from operating in east Jerusalem, police stated.
