A 40-year-old man who threatened his mother with a knife lightly wounded a police officer Saturday evening before authorities placed him under arrest.
According to Israel Police, the officer suffered a light wound to the hand.
Police were responding to a report concerning a man threatening his mother at their Ashdod apartment building.
Police later said they believed the man suffered from psychiatric problems.
