Police Chief Danino suspends use of tasers after arrest of settler

Insp.-Gen. Yohanan Danino on Sunday morning ordered police officers to freeze the use of taser guns following the controversial arrest of settler Boaz Albert, against whom Border Police used a taser gun.

Israel Radio reported that Danino has appointed a commission from the operation division to review the effectiveness of using a taser gun, which delivers an electric shock to those resisting arrest.

The Legal Forum for the Land of Israel had called on the police to investigate what it called “illegal” and “abusive” use of a taser gun during Albert's arrest.
