Police pull over 5 Palestinians with Jewish religious items on Highway 1

Police pulled over a vehicle containing five Palestinians on Monday on Highway 1 near Bet Shemesh, bringing traffic in the area to a standstill. The Palestinians - four men and a woman - were arrested on suspicion of being illegal workers, but police suspicions were increased after Jewish religious items, such as a kippa and tzitzit, were discovered in a bag owned by the Palestinian woman. "It is not yet clear what their motivations were for carrying the items," said Israel Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld. "We are looking into it."
