Police question 3 doctors for using facilities of public hospital for private medicine

Police were investigating three doctors from Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center on Sunday who are suspected of using the public hospital facilities for private surgical procedures on medical tourists to Israel.

Prof. Zvi Ram, Prof. Shlomo Constantini and Prof. Yossi Paz were the doctors questioned on Sunday.

The suspected scandal was uncovered in December of last year by the Channel 2 investigatve journalist program "Uvda" hosted by Ilana Dayan.

Following the airing of the program, Pnina Shalev, Health Minister Yael German’s personal spokeswoman, said that medical tourism was being investigated to strengthen the public health system.
