Police say they foiled hit on senior Abergil mob member

Police announced Monday that they had foiled a plot to assassinate a senior figure in the Abergil mob. A young man from Jerusalem was arrested Saturday after police found a bomb in his moped, which they suspect was intended to be used against one of the Abergil family members. Police investigator First Sergeant Major Oded Yaniv told Army Radio that "a young man was arrested on his way to Jerusalem on Saturday night, carrying an explosive device that was intended for some kind of criminal activity." Yaniv noted that the suspect was from the Bar-Mucha family, a family in a dispute with the Abergils, saying that "the detainees are connected to known criminals."
