Possible stabbing terror attack thwarted near Yitzhar settlement

A possible terror attack was thwarted at the Yitzhar junction on Thursday, when a Palestinian carrying a knife was spotted by a civilian and forced to flee.
The incident happened around 1p.m., when a Palestinian with a knife approached a hitchhiking spot where a few Israeli civilians were gathered. One of the civilians pulled a firearm on the Palestinian after he reportedly tried to stab one of the people at the hitchhiking spot. The man threw discarded his knife and fled the scene, running towards a nearby Palestinian village.
Security forces were called to the scene and combed the area in an attempt to find the would-be attacker.
The incident joins a long list of attempted and successful stabbing attacks on both sides of the Green Line in recent months.
