Rabbi Eliahu takes turn for the worse

Former Sephardi chief rabbi Mordechai Eliahu is in serious condition at Jerusalem’s Shaare Zedek Medical Center, where he has spent much of the last two years.
The rabbi's condition deteriorated in the last few days. Although he had been treated for a heart attack and stroke - and went into clinical death and was revived - his current problem differs in that it is an internal condition, The Jerusalem Post learned on Sunday.
Eliahu has not lost consciousness.
The 82-year-old rabbi, who remains a spiritual leader for modern Orthodox Israelis,includinhg many youngsters, is being treated in the hospital’s intensive care unit.
His family asked that prayers be said for him at the grave of Rabbi Haim Yosef David Azulai in the Givat Shaul cemetery.
