Rabbi Shapira to be released due to lack of evidence

The Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court decided on Wednesday to release Rabbi Yitzhak Shapira from custody a day after the Od YosefChai Yeshiva head was arrested in connection with the investigation intothe attack on a West Bank mosque.

Thejurist cited a lack of evidence to prove that the rabbi knew the identities ofthe people responsible for the December 11 attack in the village of Yassuf

The head of the yeshiva in the Yitzharsettlement was called in for questioning on Sunday and arrived on Wednesday. However,Shapira refused to answer investigators@@@ questions and was therefore placedunder arrest.
