Rare warbler spotted in Hula Valley

For the 12th time ever in Israel's history, birders caught a rare sight of the small brown Paddyfield Warbler in the Hula Valley on Wednesday.
A songbird that typically nests in Central Asia's grassy meadows, the Paddyfield Warbler usually spends its winters in Pakistan and India, only stopping in Israel if there is some mistake in navigation, said Nadav Israeli, director of the Hula Valley Birding Center – operated jointly by the Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel and Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael-Jewish National Fund.
Meanwhile, birding centers in the Galilee are currently preparing for the Winter of Birds festival, which will allow the Israeli public to experience the migration of birds for four weeks in November and December.
