Remand extended by 3 days of hit and run suspect

The Akko magistrate's court on Wednesday extended by three days he remand of the suspect in a hit and run accident that left a three-year-old child seriously wounded.
Police said Wednesday that Omar Suweid, 21, resident of a Beduin village near Carmiel, had linked himself to the crime while under police questioning.
Suweid was arrested Tuesday night on suspicion that he struck Shimon Malka while the three year old boy was crossing the street, and then fled the scene. Police also arrested Malka's cousin, the owner of the car, but released him Wednesday on condition of set restrictions. Police believe the man may have helped conceal evidence of the crash.
On Wednesday, police said that Malka's condition had stabilized, though the child is still hospitalized in serious condition.
