Remand extended for border police officer charged with murder

The Rishon Lezion Magistrate's Court extended the remand on Monday of the border police officer who allegedly shot a man to death Sunday in Kibbutz Zikim. An initial investigation revealed that an argument erupted between the two, during which the victim threatened the officer with an iron rod. The suspect then shot him dead. The officer's remand has been extended to Wednesday. The suspect claims that he committed the shooting in self-defense.
