Report: IKEA may open Ramallah branch

IKEA is considering opening a branch in Ramallah, Hebrew daily Yediot Aharonot" reported on Wednesday.
IKEA executives reportedly met with Palestinian Minister of the Economy Dr. Jawad Naji to discuss the matter.
IKEA executives updated IKEA Israel franchisee Matthew Bronfman of the Palestinian contracts, according to Yediot, who quoted Bronfman as saying, "If asked, we'll be happy to help establish the store."
The report adds that IKEA Israel is also considering opening small stores in Jerusalem and Beersheva as part of IKEA's new format, IKEA Point, which are stores of 2,000-2,600 square meters each less than a tenth of the size of a regular store.
