Report: Iranian FM threatened with impeachment

Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi has been threatened with impeachment after appointing a man his colleagues believe is affiliated with anti-regime characters,  AFP reported Sunday.
Salehi on Saturday tapped Mohammad Sahrif Malekzadeh, a former council of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's chief of staff, Esfandiar Rahim Mashaie, to the role of deputy foreign minister in charge of administrative and financial affairs. Ultra-conservatives believe Mashaie aims to undermine the Islamic regime, and therefore see Malekzadeh's appointment as highly inappropriate.
