Report: Israel returned 177 African asylum seekers to home countries in July

Israel in July returned 177 Ethiopian and Sudanese asylum seekers to their countries of origin, after they had declared consent to do so, Army Radio reported Tuesday.
According to the report the returnees relinquished eligibility for Israel's retention policy to treat them. Data from the Population and Immigration Authority also showed that in July only one African asylum seeker had entered into Israel, compared to 268 in July of 2012.
