Report: PA demands Israel releases 80 sick Palestinian prisoners

The Palestinian Authority has passed on a list of 80 sick Palestinian prisoners jailed in Israel to the United States, demanding their release, Israel Radio reported on Monday.

PA president Mahmoud Abbas met on Monday with family members of some of the prisoners, promising them he is working for the prisoners' release.

The prisoners in question are chronically or terminally ill, and some are on the verge of death, PA Minister of Prisoner Affairs Issa Karaka said, according to Israel Radio.
