Report: Palestinian Authority President Abbas to meet with Kerry next week

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas was expected to meet US Secretary of State John Kerry next Sunday in the Jordanian capital, Amman, al-Quds newspaper reported on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, during a press conference that took place after his meeting with the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Abbas claimed that the Palestinian leadership is conducting consultations with many countries in order to convince them to support the French initiative to hold an international peace conference.
Abbas also said that the Palestinian Authority will continue addressing international institutions to seek international protection from the "Israeli occupation." He also claimed that "we denounced terror in all its forms."
News of a reported meeting between Abbas and Kerry come amid reports about a new Moroccan peace initiative and after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the French initiative to convene an international peace conference on the Israeli-Palestinian issue "puzzling".
