Report: Pentagon uneasy about new Twitter trend in Iraq
By ALEX SORIN
The Pentagon expressed that it was uneasy about the increasing twitter trend in Iraq between Arabs and Kurds and a top US military commander in Iraq warned that the conflict over oil rights between Iraqi Arabs and Kurds could turn violent, Al Jazeera reported Wednesday.
US military sources also said that al-Qaida in northern Iraq is trying to exploit Twitter in an effort to maintain power since their influence has been steadily decreasing across Iraq, despite a recent wave of deadly bombings.
