Report: Prime Minister’s Office request to pay dog expenses rebuffed

JERUSALEM — The Prime Minister’s Office recently queried the state about paying the expenses of the Netanyahu family dog.
The Ministry of Finance rejected the request, calling the dog, named Kaia, a personal expense, the Israeli investigative television news program Uvda reported Monday night. Uvda is Hebrew for Fact.
The dog, which is 10 years old, was adopted by the Netanyahus in July from a pound that was about to euthanize her.
Kaia made the news last month after biting two guests at a Hanukkah party at the Prime Minister’s residence in Jerusalem, requiring her to be quarantined.
