Report: Refugees still stranded on Italian coast; Catholic church to aid

CATANIA, Italy - An Italian rescue ship has been docked for six days in a Sicilian port. Thirteen sick migrants were permitted to disembark on Saturday while Interior Minister Matteo Salvini said he was working on a "positive solution" for the remaining 137 people on board.
According to Associated Press, Italian PM Giuseppe Conte announced Saturday night that the Catholic church in Italy agreed to accept 100 of the refugees. Albania and Ireland agreed to take in 20 refugees each into their borders.
The migrants, mainly from Eritrea, have been stranded in the port of Catania since Monday because the Italian government refused to let them off the boat until other European Union states agreed to take some of them in.
