Report: Turkish PM Davutoglu to resign from post

Turkey's Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu will reportedly resign from office after talks between himself and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan failed at easing tensions, Al Jazeera reported Thursday.
Relations between the two men have been frayed for months, following attempts by Davutoglu carve out his political legacy both in domestic and foreign policy issues.
The final straw, it appears, came as the AK Party stripped Davutoglu of his power to appoint appoint local and provincial party leaders.
"Over the last 10 days, when the prime minister went to Doha to open a Turkish military base, the AK Party clipped his wings in one sense and took away his powers to appoint local and provincial party leaders. That didn't go down very well," according to Turkey station chief for Al Jazeera Stefanie Dekker.
