Unidentified gunmen fatally shot an Egyptian police officer was shot dead in Sinai on Tuesday as he walked home, Palestinian news agency Ma'an reported.
According to the report, gunmen pulled up in a truck without number plates and shot the officer several times in the chest, officials told Ma'an.
Paramedics evacuated the body to a public hospital in El-Arish.
Egyptian troops clashed with militants in El-Arish overnight, with no injuries reported.
