The US has rejected a proposal by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to mediate talks between Israel and the PA for the duration of the 10-month settlement construction freeze, Israel Radio reported on Saturday, citing an Al-Hayat report. According to the report, Abbas's proposal was meant to replace a US proposal which called for the PA to conduct clandestine negotiations with Israel during that same period.
